“Interesting” may not be the first term to come to mind when you see this accessory for sewing machines. But it’s definitely a must have!

If you don’t have it yet, make sure you have one. Keep your seams straight with these and don’t let your needle go too far from your established stitching line.

Mark measurements on the seam guide for the widths that you usually use, such as 1/4  for quilters.

A ruffler

Completely unnecessary?

Never say never.

Have you tried making party dresses, doll clothes, a skirt, or even curtains? If you haven’t, we both know that you will someday, because why not?

Before it even happens, don’t let yourself be stressed by starting over and over again when you break the thread while ruffling.

Get a ruffler! It’s fun and fulfilling to see your ruffles perfectly in place. Also, most rufflers can be used for pleating too. It can’t get any more functional than that.

A cleaning and repair kit

Like the seam guide, this is pretty much a “must have”.

Make sure to have stored oil for lubricating, a compatible screwdriver, and other repair and maintenance must haves for your sewing machine.

Proper care is all it takes to make your sewing machine last for years and even decades.

Don’t forget to check your manual every time you do cleaning if you’re not very familiar with your sewing machine yet. The idea here is to give your sewing machine maximum protection, and not expose it to more danger.

Oiling is very important. Let the oil sit on the machine for about a day and be careful not to over drop. Keep a paper towel underneath the presser foot to catch any spills.

Sewing machine tote

You were probably expecting a hard or soft case, but we just got our eyes on a new one! Can you imagine carrying your sewing machine with a totebag hanging right off your shoulders?

The trend is starting!

If you have a sewing machine that of course isn’t too heavy for one of your shoulders to carry, a sewing machine tote bag will be perfect. They’ve only manufactured ones for specific brands so far.

We are yet to know if it actually does the trick and makes portability easier, but it won’t hurt to check it!

There are more accessories that are available and out in the market. The key to finding ones that will definitely pique your interest?

Think of all the projects that you want to do! Where do your limitations fall? If you are able to think of some difficulties when going through some projects, make sure to check if there’s an easier way to do it with an accessory.
